The second workshop is all about using fabric, thread and needle to create a wrist pin cushion.
The cushion was really easy and fast to do since we are rather more experienced in doing much more difficult sewing tasks in our past courses. In creating this cushion, we used gathering technique using a fabric band and a garter. The cushion itself was stuff with old pillow filling. The crucial step in this product-making is incorporating a cardboard between the band and the cushion for safety from pins.
Luckily, my product won the best output.
I was a little disappointed because the art direction was really limited. We were not able to discover other manipulation techniques than gathering (which is very common). We could have done more patching or combining different fabrics to come up with more creative stuff. On the brighter side, the workshop went really smooth.
